Low frequencies, typically give more depth on all targets, from coins to large relics in moderate-to-low ground mineral conditions. 

Generally, the Low Frequency detectors will over power the high mineral soils, creating a signal "reflection" instead of signal penetration.   
                                                                     High frequency will not provide the greatest depth in low mineral conditions but they will provide decent depth in harshly high mineral soil where the low frequency failed. Also, high frequencies, are usually more sensitive to small targets.
With EQUINOX you can operate across the full spectrum of frequencies simultaneously for maximum results. 

The EQUINOX 600 offers a choice of 3 single frequencies and the EQUINOX 800 offers the choice of 5 single frequencies. Both models cover a much broader range of targets when operating in Multi than any one single frequency can, however, if excessive ground noise is present in a particular detecting location, switching into a single frequency can help to eliminate this.

Both detectors are waterproof to 10 feet Only with the optional waterproof headphones.
The 800: comes with Minelab's wireless headphones. Wireless headphones will lose the wifi signal when the control housing goes beneath the surface of the water.

The 600: comes with corded land headphones as standard. These standard headphones do not have a water tight plug. To go into waist deep water, and deeper, an optional waterproof headphone is required.
